Farzi Cafe | Safety First | Dining Experience

Farzi Café, UB City has been one of the most famous places in Bangalore to hang-out with friends and parties.  These difficult times when the globe is facing pandemic, almost every place has faced lockdown.  After being shut for 2+ months, finally, the place has opened to the public.  But the management has taken plenty of safety precautions to make guests feel comfortable & safe. And the menu is also completely toned down.  Let me share my experience from a recent visit.

Safety Precautions

  • The entrance has multiple safety instructions that show the preparedness of the team.
  • QR code to be scanned for knowing the menu.
  • Thermal check for guests at the entrance.
  • Hand Sanitizer with a pedal pump to have contactless disposal of sanitizer.
  • All the plates on tables are covered to avoid dust & contamination.
  • The serving staff is suited to face gear & mask while serving.

The Food

Farzi Café is known for creating some amazing dishes with unique combinations of ingredients in them.  And most importantly, presentation and flavors are top-notch.  Few dishes that I tried.

Small Plates

Golgappa Platter, Paneer Tak-a-Tak Taco

Golagappa was a dish that I missed a lot during the lockdown.  It was wonderful to enjoy the deconstructed version of the Pani Puri.  But more than that, I loved the unique creation of Paneer Taco that tasted awesome.

Mains

Asparagus Water chestnut Kurma with Coconut Appam, Re-invented Mutter Paneer with Missi Roti

This is the first time that I was trying an Appam with a unique combination.  But I loved it a lot as it had amazing gravy that had the crunchy water chestnut in it.

Mutter Paneer sounds like a very common dish but the Chef has deconstructed it very well.  The gravy is poured on the bowl that has Paneer & Mutter in it.  The dish tasted amazing but before eating, one can enjoy watching the gravy being poured.

Desserts

Chocolate Dirty Pile, Elaichi Crema Catalana Cannelloni

It’s hard to pick a dish that favorite, especially when it comes to dessert.  I loved the unique presentation of Elaichi Crimea Catalana & Chocolate flavor in Dirty Pie.

Drinks

Mocktails (Date Me, Italian Smooch, Litchu Panna Desire, Strawberry Lemonade)

Liquor & cocktails were one of the best at Farzi but the government has not yet given permission to serve liquor. But each of the mocktails I mentioned above will blow your mind away.  I enjoyed tasting most of them but loved the Date Me.

Final Thoughts

It was one of the best dining experiences after a long time. I felt very safe trying food at Farzi Cafe post lockdown.  The taste and presentation were spot-on and uniqueness made me feel that I was farzified.  I urge every food lover to visit Farzi and experience service & good food.
