BBQ’D by Made in Punjab – Reopens at UB City, Bengaluru

Advertisements

BBQ’D has been one of the popular places to devour BBQs along with some crafted beer.  The place was closed to public for a while and now has relaunched itself in its new avatar.  Restaurant is now called as “BBQD by MIP” and it contains many of the dishes that were popular in “Made in Punjab” restaurant.  People still have fond memories of many North Indian dishes that were served.  So, they decided to bring back the dishes to bring back smile in people face.

The interiors of the restaurant has been setup well and few things highlights would be – Brewery setup, BBQ Grill section & Live chat counters.

BBQ’D Tasting Table

I recently visited the restaurant to try some of the dishes that have been curated by the new executive Chef Mahabir Pundir.  There were amazing new dishes introduced in every course of meal that I was waiting to try.  Let me share my experience.

Starters

At the outset, I must say that there are plenty of options for both Vegetarians & Non-Vegetarians.  The latest trend is that people end up only consuming starters and have very limited main course.

Vegetarian

Malai Brocolli, Palak Paapdi Chaat, Dahi Pataka, BBQ’D Special Paneer Tikka, Karara Bhatti Paneer, Dhansu Aloo, Tandoori Mushroom

I personally loved the Broccoli as it was creamy, broccoli was well cooked, and the seasoning was just perfect.  Another favorite was the Palak Papdi chat that had special mashed potato paste along with spices, which tasted amazing.  Special mentioned of Bhatti Paneer that was mouth-watering from the time it was brought.  I loved the way the paneer was smoking, and it was perfect to take a slow-motion shot.

Other starters were also pretty good.  Something that’s common to all starters in the lovely plating of the dishes.

Non-Vegetarian

Chicken Tikka Chaat, LOL Tikka, Murgh Tikka, Lasuni Tikka, Legacy Tandoori Champ, Tandoori Jheenga, Bhatti Murgh

Though I could not taste them, but I personally thought that the Bhatti Murgh and Champ were amazing.  I could see others just binge and relish the non-vegetarian dishes.

Main Course

Lehsuni Palak Chenna, Dal Makhani served with Laccha Paratha, Jeera Naan, BBQ’D Special Butter Chicken, Murgh Dum Biryani

Palak Chenna is not available at many places and even if it’s available, the taste doesn’t come out good.  Here in BBQD, the taste of the dish was amazing, and it went along very well with the Butter Paratha/Naan.  I also loved the Dal Makhani as the dal was well cooked and it had the right amount of cream which made it mouth-watering.

Desserts

Rasmalai, Nukkad Jaleb

Both the desserts had the perfect sweetness and was great to enjoy after the heavy food.

Drinks

Beer – Hafeweizen, Masala Siason, IPA

The beers at BBQ’D has come a long way from the time the beers were launched.  A perfect combination along with a heavy Indian food.

Final Thoughts

A great place to go for lunch/dinner and enjoy some of the North Indian dishes.  To get more value out of the food, try taking it along with a beer.  The chaats and desserts are also amazing, one should not miss out on trying them.  I would recommend allocating enough time when one dines it that allows one to enjoy food while having a good conversation.  It’s a must visit restaurant in Bangalore.

I rate my experience at 4.25/5.
