House of Troy | Greek Cuisine | Bangalore
We have seen varieties of cuisines being introduced by restaurateurs in Bangalore. The latest cuisine is ‘Greek Cuisine’ that served by ‘House of Troy’. The place opened to the public nearly 2 weeks back and has already become the talk of town across the city. As per the current trend, people are looking to try something new on a regular basis. This restaurant is aptly set up in the busy Koramangala area.
Ambiance
Interiors of the place have been done very well, it looks neat and chic.
One can observe a dominance of White and Old in every part of the restaurant, that gives a classy look.
There are seating arrangement looks exquisite with some nice velvet cushions.
Lighting arrangements inside the restaurant looks quite amazing. There are some nice designer chandelier.
They have seating options inside and outside the restaurants.
Food
There are plenty of food and drink options. The team behind ‘House of Troy’ has researched for nearly 6 months along with Chef before bringing it out in the market.
Salad
Greek Salad
The salad had fresh veggies and the right amount of dressing that made the taste perfect. It was the right dish to be taken before eating more heavy dishes.
Appetizers
Spanakopita, Dakos (Bruschetta), Tomatokefthedges, Green style Onion Rings, Melitzanes Papoutsakia (stuffed eggplant)
My favorite was Spanakopita that looks like a flat samosa but it’s filled with greens & cheese. Taste is so good that one may find it hard to resist the next time. I also loved the Tomoatokefthedges, it’s the kofta version of the tomato dish that was well done.
A special mention of stuffed eggplant that had multiple layers and filling inside it. Presentation & taste was spot on.
There are plenty of options for non-vegetarians that will be relished. To name a few Lamb Meltzanes Papoutsakia, Kefthedakia.
Main Course
Lungune Pasta with Spicy Tomato Feta, Wild Mushroom Risotto served with Zavatar Pita Crispies
I loved the taste of Mushroom Risotto but felt that the Pita Crispes could have been made a little crispier. Wild Mushroom Risotto was a good dish but could have been slightly spicy & seasoned.
There is wide selection of dishes for Non-Vegetarians – Citrus Oven Roasted Chicken Thighs, Greek Stuffed Chicken, Grilled Salmon with Creamy Herb Feta Sauce, Tiger Prawn with Couscous tossed with Tomato sauce.
Desserts
Baklava with Pistachio Ice Cream, Loukoumades
Many of the dishes mentioned above were outstanding and I felt like tasting multiple portions. The standout dish would be the Baklava as it was very tasty, crispy and combination with Pista ice-cream was amazing.
Cocktails
Ouzo Cherry Twister (Vodka based), Magic Smokey Ball (Whisky based)
Drinks tasted amazing but presentation-wise hands-down Vodka based Ouzo drink looks inviting.
Final Thoughts
It was a great experience trying food at the newly opened Greek Restaurant. Every dish tasted amazing and one could feel the flavor ingredients. There were a few instances where I felt the need for more seasoning. The presentation was great for all dishes. I am sure that going forward, this will become the talk of the town.
Food for 2 at the restaurant will come up to anywhere between INR 1500-2000.
