Plot & Summary

Raajakumara is one of the movie which is a must watch for any Kannada movie lover because it has anything & everything that you can ask for.  A movie that is different in both the half(s) and is quite engaging through.  I guess that is the simple reason why the movie tickets were not available for 3 days at a stretch as they were running house-full.  But I am glad to have got the tickets and watched this beautiful movie.

rajakumara-20150424095934-14408The movie starts with a cricket match followed by some display of Patriotism.  To be able to showcase the same, we have our spirited power-star ‘Puneet Rajkumar’ as ‘Siddarth aka Appu Raj’.  In a short while we see the entry of a relative known heroine in South India, ‘Priya Anand’ as ‘Nandini’ who is a Salsa dancer.  Our hero falls in love at the first sight and tries to pursue but the heroine is also quite smart is playing her own cards.  Eventually they end up falling in love and want to convey the message to the families. Like typical Indian family, there is a sense of discomfort in the boy’s family as they would have already found a suitable match.  But father’s love (role played by well-known actor ‘Sarath Kumar’ as ‘Ashok’) over son prevails.  There are many more twists and turns that keeps you engaged in the first half.  And must say the song sequences are simply awesome.

First half is romantic but the 2nd half become quite serious, yet very endearing affair.  We see our hero finding out his roots in an Orphanage after an accident. The name of the Orphanage is ‘Kastoori Nivasa’ which is one of the most famous movies of Rajkumar.  Crowd simply goes berserk the moment the name is seen and there is cheers for nearly 10ms which shows the legacy of late Rajkumar (Puneeth’s father).  Second revolves around Appu trying to save the Orphanage, clearing the bad name created for father and trying to teach essential values of life to people.  It is so endearing that you will feel very emotion at almost every scene in the 2nd half.  Infact, I watched quite a few folks, especially elders and few adults becoming quite sentimental.  A perfect movie for family & friends to watch.

Music

The songs in the movie are simply awesome.  My favourite among all is the title track ‘Raajakumar’ which is simply awesome.  Other songs are also simply awesome.  The reason for that being the songs are good, music is great and voices are awesome.  Songs seem to have been shot in best of location.

The picturization, lyrics and cinematography of the movie are simply awesome.  I think this is going to be one of the biggest hit of the year coz of the emotional factor in the movie.

Conclusion

I think after ‘Bhajrangi Bhaajaan’, if there was any movie that touched me, it is ‘Raakakumara’.  A movie that I missed watched due to unavailability of tickets.  But glad that when I got the tickets, felt that the wait for worth it.  A must watch movie as I told in the beginning for everyone.  Infact, every Indian can learn a lot of values watching this movie.
