Bangalore has been known since long time for its pub culture. Many of the time people would also call it as the Pub Capital, not sure if it is still being called so. The reason for that is quite simply because people love visiting Pubs and hanging out instead of going for a restaurant or discotheque. It is simply because a pub in general is a quitter place for people to sit & enjoy a drink while having conversation. I think this trend has been there since ages. And to be able to cater to needs of people pubs opened in huge numbers in Bangalore from early 90’s. Sherlocks Pub is one such place that opened in early 1991 and been there in since then. Its been 25 years and a Silver Jubilee for the pub. I got an opportunity to be part of the Press Meet that was held recently at their oldest outlet in Frazer Town, Bangalore.
This was an event that gave an opportunity to meet one eminent personalities in Media Industry, Vijay Grover. He is the CEO & Founder of Bangalore Media Foundation, Former Editor (South) at Tehelka, Former New Presenter at INX News and many other posts.
Also, met his son Akshay Grover who is a pass out from IHM is also following his father’s footsteps in some way and handling the Sherlocks Café at Frazer Town.
The press meet for a great occasion where in Sherlock shared some of its accomplishments to the media.
- Sai Natesan, Chairman of Jassbys Hospitality Pvt Ltd which owns and runs the chain of Bengaluru based pubs, was thanked.
- Bengaluru East’s landmark “Sherlock’s Pub” completes 25 years of glorious existence in Frazer Town. The legendry British style Pub has been a favorite destination of many.
- As “Sherlock’s Pub” turns “Sherlocks@25” in Frazer Town the Team at Sherlock’s Pubs celebrated its Silver jubilee event “Sherlocks@25” with unbelievable offers.
- There is a generation of patrons who has grown with the Pub. This Silver Jubilee “Sherlocks@25” we are launching a INR 25 Menu. During this period the patrons of Sherlock’s are in for a Surprise INR 25 Menu. A range of Beverages and Starters will be on offer to patrons at a never offer of just INR 25, a price that they would have paid in the 1990’s.
“Sherlocks@25” at Sherlock’s kicked off with a Social Connect event where every Sherlock’s Pubs Team member took up CSR activity in its neighborhoods.
A health camp for BBMP employees of Pulakeshi Nagar ward and public was arranged on Sunday 6th November.
Sajan Thomas, CEO Sherlock’s Frazer Town said,” Social Connect is an opportunity to thank our neighbors and society. The breakfast with Pourakarmikas and the health camp was one such gesture”.
The Silver Jubilee event was held at the first outlet of Sherlocks Pub @ Frazer town. The pub has some cool interiors which is relaxing and yet very modern. As part of the event, got an opportunity to spend more time at the pub and enjoy the food & drinks.
In the event, they served some good Finger Food, Biryani and unlimited beer which made all of us happy. And it was also an opportunity to meet folks from Media.
It was a wonderful experience visiting a legendary pub in Bangalore during their celebrations.
