New Year usually bring a lot of new energy, vibe and enthusiasm into each our lives. And what better than being part of @16th Foodies Meetup of FBAB at the newly opened ‘Whooppeezz Pizza’ @Koramangala. The name is quite unique but then sounds pretty cool. The name can sound as flashy to catch the attention of the youngsters and general public coming to Koramangala area. Well, its not just about the name which matter, it’s a completely difference experience that people look out for when they goto a new place. Coz people would have already seen the contemporary pizza outlets like the Dominos & Pizza Hut. There needs to be something really different which I feel that the Whooppeezz have been able to achieve through their outlet. Let me share my review on the basis of my experience.
If you are coming from the Hosur road junction towards the Forum mall, take right at the signal in front of forum mall. You will find this pizza place to the left side right opposite to ‘Raheja Arcade’.
Again for those coming from Koramangala National Games Village side. You will need to drive almost till the signal where you need to take right to forum. Raheja Arcade comes to the left side and the Whooppeezz appears to the right side.
The place has got a very cool looking entrance. Colors used are very vibrant and full of energy. Naturally it easily attacks the young college crowd and also many others.
I loved the fact that there is enough space across various tables. It isn’t crowded to accommodate more people.
There are some wonderful cartoons where in they want to showcase the fact that family & friends and come to the eat-out place.
Some words on the wall that are quite unique and cool include-
In Crust We Trust
A pizza a day, never keeps friends at bay
The love triangle
Enjoy a well-rounded diet
Take home a Hottie !
Apart from the interiors are also well done with very different kind of bulb-shades. I am sure a lot of time and effort has gone inside designing this place.
But for sure what matters the most is the pizza(s) that come out of this place.
This being a pizza places, the most important aspect of a pizza place is the pizza base, coz there are places that talk about ‘Pan Crust’, ‘Thin Crust’, ‘Wood Burnt’ and what not. You may not get the quality that they actually promise. Here at ‘Whooppeezz’, the base if super soft bases.
Let me share my experience of the wonderful food items that I tried @Whooppeezz.
Nachos + Salsa Sauce
The nachos that you get here is not the same that you get at other place coz its homemade nachos. Taste actually is similar to the traditional kannada snack i.e., ‘Spicy Shankpale’. But this is the USP making it special. And the best part is that they have the name of the item written on top of the box. This aspect is quite unique to this place.
Mushroom Garlic Bread
Garlics bread is simply super as its quite soft; there is nice layer of cheese on top of it. There is quite a bit of mushroom amid cheese. For sure it is one of the best mushroom garlic breads that I have eaten.
Even the plain version of the garlic bread is simply superb.
There are quite a few varieties of pizza in Veg and Non-Veg variants. I will share my thoughts on some of the most unique Pizza(s) that I gotto taste here.
Fresh Tomato Sauce, Jalapeno, Pineapple & Chilli Flakes
This is the first of the pizza I tasted. Nice way to put the chilli flakes and the pineapple. You can get some amount of sweetness, chilli effects and overall the base being soft, it’s a wonderful pizza to have.
Tandoori Sauce, Fresh Green Capsicum, Fresh Onion, Fresh Tomato & Tandoori Paneer
This is an Indianized pizza which seems have become quite populate in many place. Addition of paneer I feel should become popular worldwide as well.
If you can add some seasoning the taste of the pizza is simply awesome.
Home made BBQ Sauce, Fresh Red & Yellow Capsicum, Pickled Onions, Black & Green Olives, Sundried Tomato’s & Jalapenos
As the description indicates this pizza that has all the best topping that can be in a pizza. A wonderful taste comes to the pizza along with the cheese and pizza base. Easily this is one of my favorite pizzas at this place.
This was one of the best of the PIZZA for sure. I mean a pizza that is loaded with 2 layers of cheese and the moment you put one bite, the cheese just oozes out. I must say I enjoyed taking every bit of it. I don’t remember what is called on the menu but whatever it is, for sure the best and easily will become the favourite among pizza lonvers.
Fresh Tomato Sauce, Sun-dried Tomato, sautéed mushrooms, Pickled onion & Basil
This is one of the pizza I have tried sometime back is also really good. Infact, I would say if you don’t want the complete set of veggies like what you get out of ‘Explotica’, best would be to take this.
Each and ever pizza in the Vegetarian category is well thought and made. I am glad that the focus is not just on the Non-Veg version of pizzas.
Though I could not try out some of the non-veg pizzas, some of them that were really good includes – Chicken Hawaiian Hottie, BBQ Caplyso Chicken and the best of all is the ‘Eggizza’.
I gotto describe this pizza coz it has the uniqueness in the way it is presented. It almost seems like every slice has an egg in it. I heard some great review of this pizza.
Penne, Parmesan Cheese, Fresh, Tomato Sauce, Olive Oil, Garlic, Chilli Flakes, Basil Leaf & Parsley
This is one of the items that I thought was a bit off coz of the sauces not mixing well with the penne that was there. The flavors were decently mixed but the overall effect did not come out as expected.
Choco Pizza with Gems
Simply awesome desert, which I just loved. The chocolate just melts and then the gems add more to the flavor. A unique and surely must try desert.
Chocolate with Almond Flakes
Unique idea is critical in the recent times coz people do get bored of the common pizzas. This one is also a great creation from Whooppeezz.
A nice cake with cream, which is given as nice package in a box with spoon. Pretty good desert but surely not as exquisite as Chocolate Pizza.
Another desert which was pretty good. But if you are a sweet lover, you will love it to the core. The only problem is that it’s a bit too sweet.
I would say that this is one of the best pizzas eating experience I have had in a long time. I am big fan of the Italian Food and when you get something as special as ‘Whooppeezz’ did, you feel happier. And I am sure it is going to win the hearts of many alike in Bangalore. And for sure it is going to give some strong competition to likes of Dominos. If they can establish themselves across Bangalore, I am sure they will do really good everyone coz of their uniqueness.
My rating currently for this place would be 4.0/5. And for sure it might go up pretty soon if I get the similar experience I have got trying 2 times.
My ratings in other departments are as follows –
Food – 4.0/5
Ambiance – 4.0/5
Service – 4.0/5
VFM – 4.0/5
Food for 2 people will cost in the range of INR500-1000. And yes, I can assure that the person will surely get a wonderful experience at Whooppeezz.
