North Swad in the heart of Malleswaram

Advertisements

A cosy North Indian Fine Dine Restaurant is in the heart of Malleswaram.  Started by 2 aspiring restaurateurs, Jitendar Choudhary & Divya, the restaurant has all the right elements.  It’s been around for 6 months but have gained the love and affection of people around the area.  Many customers even visit from farther corners of Bangalore after getting to heard positive feedback.  That’s one of the main reasons why the restaurant has never done any publicity.  I have relished the tasty food at the restaurant a few times, sharing my experience.IMG_20190807_234121

Ambiance

  • The interiors of the place have been done from scratch by the owners.  This can be seen in the beautiful finish just outside the restaurant with nice artwork.  Inside there are plenty of artistry shown by the carpenters.
  • Seat arrangements are comfortable and can easily accommodate around 60 people.  Special sofa sets and tabletops are used that were procured from a new vendor.
  • The restaurant can accommodate any guests coming as group of 4-60.
  • The place has beautiful lighting and wooden art across different sections.
  • At the entrance of the restaurant, there’s artwork depicting the way Bangalore city looks like.
  • Light music is played the background. Its entertaining while having good food.

Food

The food at the restaurant is done with a lot of love and care.  Owners and the manager constantly interact with the Chefs to ensure that everytime quality food is served.

Soup

Tomato Dhaniya Shorba, Coriander Soup

I personally loved the presentation of the soup and the tangy tasty from tomato.  The Coriander Soup is also good but it’s a Shorba that refreshes and light on stomach.

Starters

Moong Dal Pakoda, Masala Khichiya Papad, Malai Paneer Tikka, Baby Corn Tikka

My favorite among these was the Masala Khichiya Papad that like the Masala Papad but it’s a little thick.  The toppings of onion & tomato do not make it soggy and it stays crisp.  I also loved the Malai Paneer Tikka as it had soft Paneer cubes, tasty cream and mild spices.

Main Course

Kadai Veg, Paneer Lababdhar, Veg Diwani Handi

I tried three dishes part of main course along with bread and every one of them was tasty.  The Kadai Veg had well-cooked stir-fried vegetables, right amount of spices and thick gravy gravy.  Paneer Lababdar had the soft paneer and well-balanced cashew & tomato-based gravy.  Diwani Handi was mildly spiced but it had the tasty almond-cashew gravy along with vegetables.

Though the restaurant primary serves North Indian cuisine, they also have few dishes that are loved by many.  One can enjoy varieties of sizzlers like Mangolian Sizzler, Paneer Sizzler.

Breads

Cheese Garlic Naan, Aloo & Gobi Stuffed Parantha, Laccha Parantha

I specially loved the Stuffed Parantha as it had even stuffing of Aloo & Gobi.  Cheese Garlic Naan & Masala Cheese Naan are good and they go along well with the gravy dishes.

Desserts

Jelabi with Rabdi, Moong Dal Halwa

I am not a great fan of dessert but this one time I loved every dessert served.  My favorite was the Moong Dal Halwa that made from the finely powdered Moong Dal.

The Rabdi served along with the Jelabi also was tasty and I loved eating it without Jelabi.

Drink

Fruit Punch & Swad Anusaar Special

I loved the Fruit punch as it had the right mix of fruit-juices & ice-cream.  The Swad Anusaar was unique as it had a combination of Mango, Apple juices infused with spices.  Drink looked like a cocktail, but it was a mocktail.

Final Thoughts

Its good to see a North Indian Restaurant come up in Malleswaram that’s loaded with traditional South Indian restaurants.  Every dish served at Swad Anusaar have been prepared with care and tasty very good.  There are many personal favorite that I want to go there and try repeatedly.  I specially recommend this place to every Bangalorean or any other travel visiting the city.
