Chief guest for the event was Dr. C N Manjunath (Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research)Shashi Kumar (CEO, Akshayakalpa Farms) and Mukhund Naidu (Product Innovation Head at Akshayakalpa) addressed the media & answered questions.

Ashayakalpa Lactose Free Milk

Lactose is a sugar (carbohydrate) present in the milk and is the primary source of energy that comes from milk.  Two smaller sugar called Glucose and Galactose make up Lactose.  Lactose makes up around 4.5-5% of the milk (by weight) and is the major constituent of SNF (Solid Not Fat) in milk.  Infant and adults rely on the secretin of enzyme Lactase to digest the lactose in milk.

In the recent time, we have heard of many people being Lactose Intolerant.  The main reason for that is the reduced production of lactase enzyme.  It also causes medical conditions leading to bloating and other stomach issues on consuming significant amount of lactose.  Lactose Intolerance conditional can be prevented by using lactose reduced in diet.

The lactose free milk is slightly sweeter than the normal milk.  During processing, lactose in the milk is broken down into glucose and galactose making it sweet.  The sweetening index of glucose is fives that of lactose, and sweetening index of galactose is four times that of lactose.  Milk tastes sweeter without adding any sweetening substance.

Ashayakalpa Lactose Free Milk is manufactured by adding enzyme Lactase to pasteurized milk at very high precision.  Lactose free milk is the same as organic milk from Akshayakalpa but devoid of lactose.

Lactose free milk is supplied without subjecting the milk to high heat treatment.  But the milk itself has all the goodness like protein, vitamins, calcium etc.

A lactose intolerant person who has not been consuming milk, may now get the nourishment from Milk.
