Dragon Food Festival at InAzia Restaurant, Sheraton Grand Whitefield
InAzia Restaurant at Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre is hosting a special Dragon Food Festival. As part of this festival, plenty of dishes from land of Dragons have been introduced into the menu. Chef Shishir Rai & Chef Rungtiwa Sorlae are the key people behind all the items included the “Dragon Fest Menu”. I was recently hosted for a Chef Table and got an opportunity to devour some of the delicious food.
Inazia Dragon Food Fest
There are plenty of items in the menu, but Chef identified a select set of dishes for our tasting. The dishes were meant to be consumed across different meal-course.
Dim Sum
Vegetables Sichuan Style Pan Fried Dim Sum
Assorted Mushroom Truffle Blast
Being a vegetarian, I was simply wow(d) by both the dishes. But if I were to pick my favourite it would be the Fried Dim Sum as the flavors from the spices had some Indian-ness. The dim-sum had good amount of celery, carrot and asparagus that was seasoned with ginger oil.
The Mushroom Truffle had a melange of hon shimeji emokitake and shitake mushrooms.
Prawn & Scallop Suimai (nv)
Chicken & Pakchoi Dumpling (nv)
Though I could not taste the dishes, the presentation looked amazing. I was very much tempted to consume them. The colors in the dim-sum was brought by addition of Termeric (Yellow), Beetroot (Reddish) and Spinach (Green).
Small Bite
Wok Tossed Tofu Sichuan Style
The dish was very well marinated and had soft tofu tossed with Sichuan chilli paste. I loved the dish as it was slightly spicy due to the presence of chilli paste.
Sichuan Duck Wrap with Pan cake (nv)
Soup
Cucumber & Cilantro Soup
Main Course
Tofu Asparagus & Water chestnut & Malak Paste
This was another dish that was well plated, healthy and very tasty. The dish tasted very good as it had a slightly thick gravy, green-onions, chillies and some seasame.
Stir Fried Chicken Black Bean Style (nv)
Spicy Prawns with Chicken Sichuan Chilli Oil (nv)
Rice & Noodle
Traditional Moon Faan
A special steamed rice that’s cooked with five spices and topped with sesame flavoured soy sauce. It was the perfect combination with the Tofu Asparagus dish served in the main-course.
Dry cooked Hoo Fun Noodles
The noodles had napa cabbage and sweet pepper rice. It was seasoned with fermented bean sauced which add the unique taste.
Desserts
Chilled Mango Pudding
I enjoyed the taste of this dessert at it was not too sweet and was topped with a dollop of cream & few pomegranate pieces. It would be even nicer if they would have given a bowl of cream that can be taken along with every bit of the pudding.
My Thoughts
The taste of every dish was just amazing, and I enjoyed the experience. Though I am not an expert in the South Asian cuisine, I very much enjoyed food that brought out the original flavour of the ingredients. A great effort by both the Chef in curating a great menu that will tantalize everyone’s taste-buds. I would like to reiterate that apart from the dishes mentioned above, there are many more dishes. If you are in doubt with regards to any of the dishes, Chef would be ready to clarify.
I highly recommend everyone to visit Inazia Restaurant and try out the dishes part of Dragon Food Fest.
