Hyatt Culinary Challenge @Bangalore



HYATT is one hotels that conducts ‘Culinary Challenge’ on a yearly basis.  This year the event is being setup in association with the SMILE Foundation.  This is done to emphasize the focus on rich culinary heritage of our country.  The event that recently happened in Bangalore is the 3rd seasonand spread across 13 Hyatt India destinations across the country.


The Hyatt Culinary Challenge was conceptualized as a unique event that will bring together individuals from the corporate realm on a common platform; where they could showcase their culinary expertise and passion for food in an interactive culinary event. Each participant was paired with a child from the SMILE foundation, Hyatt’s partner NGO in India. Individuals could pick a choice of their recipe and present the same to the judges.  The winner of the event would get a chance to be part of the grand finale in Chandigarh in November 2016.  This itself is a motivation of lot of people turning up to be part of the event.


The preliminary rounds are being held across places like Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune between 31Oct-1Nov16.

The judge for the event was one of the popular Celebrity in Bangalore area i.e., Suresh Hinduja.  Event was well organized and the participants enjoyed it completely.  It is hard to say if there was one winner coz the challenge is with a purpose, so all of them who participated is a winner.





Apart from the event, there some wonderful spread of food and live-counters for guests to enjoy post event.  Among the live counters there were – Pizza, Pasta and Biryani.


Chef would take the inputs from the guests and prepare some of the wonderful Pasta.


Pizza also was quite well made with all the favourite veg toppings.


Biryani was another item which was made by chef, which meant that we can ask Chef to add as much spice as needed.


Other items in the spread included multiple deserts, salads and soups.  It was good fun to taste good food after the event.


The drinks options were limited to Wine (Red & White) and mocktails.  But yes, you could also ask for a beer if needed.  It was a pleasant dining experience.


Overall Experience of the event was wonderful.  I have had some fond memories meeting winner, judge, foodie friends and enjoying good food & wine.  I am hoping that there is an event like this happening on a bi-yearly basis so you can enjoy seeing Chefs make some wonderful dishes and do it for a cause.  The latest updates on #CookWithHyatt.
