The tenth edition of India Foodex 2018, back in Bangalore with many more new additions.  The event has been received well in the past and considered as India’s largest International Exhibition on Food & Beverages.  It’s an opportunity to see Food Products, Retailing, Import & Export, Processing & Packaging Machineries and Allied Industries in single place.  This year the event’s happening at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bangalore between 31st Aug – 2nd Sep’18

About India Foodex 2018

This year the exhibition will be much bigger than previous years as its being setup across 20000 square meters.  There will be 450 exhibitors from across 30+ countries and expected to have more than 35000 visitors.  Various organization related to Horticulture, Cold-Chain Development, Food Processing & Packaging are supporting the exhibition.

India Foodex and Bangalore

Indian Food Processing industry ranks fifth in world of exports, production and consumption.  There are many new brands retailing food products. This has resulted in Indian food scenario developing. The exhibition will allows brands to showcase their individual prowess and increase awareness.
 
Bangalore has seen the maximum growth, making this the perfect place to host an event of this scale.. With the IT revolution changing the landscape of this city, people from different part of the country & globe have made this their home.  The city has seen an exponential growth in the number of restaurants that serve food from different cuisine. 

Indian Culinary Challenge 2018

India Foodex will also host the 2nd edition of “Culinary Championship & Inter Hotel Competition“.  The brand ambassador of Indian Culinary Industry and Padma Shri awardee, Chef & Legend Shri Imtiaz Qureshi will be inaugurating the event. Chef Ramaswamy Selvaraju will be the convenor of this challenge and an elite jury.  Some of the eminent personal part of the jury include – Chef Ramaswamy Selvaraju (Exec Chef, Taj Vivanta Yeswanthpur), Chef Shazia Khan (First Runners up Master Chef India 2), Chef Nimish Bhatia (Found Nimisserie), Chef Anwar Ali Ansari (Taj Yeshwantpur), Chef Ashfaque Qureshi (Chef & CEO, Grande Cuisines of India), Chef Suvranjan Banerjee (Exec Chef, The Oterra), Chef Anthony Huang (Exec Chef, Sheraton Grand Bangalore), Chef Suvranjan Banerjee (Director – School of Hospitality & Tourism, JLU Bhopal) and Chef Rahul Gladwin Massey (Founder – Culinarte).

Battle of Biryani (B ‘o’ B)

This is one of the favoured dishes for many people and there are plenty of variations available across the country.  As part of this competition, contestants will be preparing variety of Biryani and will be judged by King of Dum Pukt Biryani, Imtiaz Qureshi.

HRC Expo 2018

This a special exhibition on Hotel, Restaurant and Catering products, services, bakery equipment’s & technology.

Closing Thoughts

This event seems to be one of its kind as its giving opportunities for multiple brands to come under one roof.  It helps in promotions and network with people part of same industry.  I am looking forward to attending the event.
