Bandar Foods – Squeezable Chutney, Indian Flavors American Taste

Advertisements

We all love eating different dishes and each of them has different flavour profiles that dominate. But we still crave for some specific flavours that makes us add items like Pickles, Chutney Powder, Chilli Powder & more. These additions enhance the overall taste and makes us feel happy after consuming every bite. Many times, these additional chutneys requires the right mix of spices which can be made by seasoned chat-wala’s (at fast food joints). What if we were to get a brand to make these chutney(s) and package in a way that it will available handily. Well, this is exactly what Bandar Foods have done after an extensive research. The brand makes nearly 5 varieties of chutneys that help in making the dish slightly sweet, tangy, salty, bitter or spicy.

Bandar Foods recently setup stall during the Fast Food & Café Convention hosted by NDTV Food that was held on 10-May’18 in Bangalore. I got an opportunity to taste their products and also interact with Mr.Priyanshu Tyagi, Brand Manager, Bandar Foods. It was great interacting and getting to try these amazing chutneys.

Product & Flavour

When it comes to Indian Chutneys, we don’t have a brand making and packaging to make it available to common people. Especially for Indians living abroad, it become a lot harder to get these flavours. When it comes to some of the western flavours (American), we do have multiple brands producing them and selling in bulk. Some of the commonly known sauces made in America are Pesto, Mayonnaise, BBQ, Mustard, Chipotle, Garlic Pepper, Tabasco or Jalapeno based.

Bandar Foods have spent plenty of time experimenting and come out with 5 different flavour which are most commonly desired by Indians. Individually every chutney has been named and the main ingredient has been used in the names like Mint Cilantro – Chilli Sauce, Tangy Tamarind – Dipping Sauce, Chilli Garlic – Hot Sauce, Spicy Mango – Chilli Sauce and Sweet Mango – Dipping Sauce. Outside of every bottle, they have the words written as “Indian Flavors American Taste“.

The highlights of the products are that they are Vegan, Gluten Free and contains Nothing Artificial. Every product has been certified by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

About Bandar Foods

Bandar Foods was started by two food lovers Dan and Lalith in Mumbai, way back in 2013. These unlike friends had one common interest for food that brought them close. From the early growing years, they both loved Mom’s recipes and eating spicy food. They realized over a period that there are limited options in supermarket for Indian Chutneys.

Lalith and Dan realized the potential for Indian Chutney’s in the market and play around with the recipes. They curated these chutneys after taking plenty of inputs from family & friends. The brand launched its first squeezable plastic bottle in 2013. Little did they realize that people in our country have been waiting for something like this since long time. They built the brand awareness by being part of various roadshows and tradeshows. They are now become one of the established brands in internationally and are available in our country as well.

Some of the leading newspaper, the brand has received reference include – The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post & San Francisco Chronicle. They are available in many of the retails stores like – Whole Foods, Sprouts – Farmers Market, Safeway, Albertsons, Giant Eagle, World Market, Cinemark & OTG.

My Thoughts

I am glad to have come across these products that can satisfy different taste choices of people. Every chutney has unique flavours of Mint, Mango, Tamarind and Garlic in them. It’s hard to pick my favourite among the 5 but if I were to pick something, it would be Mint Cilantro and Spicy Mango. Every product has been packaged very well to keep the flavours intact and be able to store it over period of 12 months. I would personally advise every individually to try out all the flavours and add the one that suites your mood. And I am sure that everyone would fall in love with every flavour produced by Bandar Food.

These products can be ordered online and replenishing them in our Kitchen Shelf may not be easy. I am sure that the products from Bandar Foods will become a household and will be available in every super market.
