Philips India setup an event for celebrating Healthy Cooking using their products. Chef Ranveer Brar was invited to showcase the use of the products along with Shwetambari Shetty, Fitness Expert at Cut.FitThe event was held at Vivanta by Taj at MG Road, Bangalore.  I was invited along with a select few bloggers to be part of the event.

History of Philips

The brand has been popular for lighting since long time. But since past 1-2 decades they have come up some unique Kitchen Appliance which have become popular.  The most captivating part about the Philips products is its finish quality, performance and ease-of-use.

In the present age, everyone is keen on buying products that can be fit anywhere in the Kitchen, drawing room or Living room.  Philips fits the bill perfects by making products that just seem to become a part of house.  Some of the world class products like – Philips Airfryer, Induction Cooker, Multicooker, Grill, Toaster, Juicer and Sandwich maker look great.

I have also mentioned about Performance and ease-of-use.  People nowadays have little time for preparing meals.  They want the product to be simple to operate and perform at the highest level.  With the available competition in the market, these factors matter a lot in buying product.  Philips had made sure that every product fits the bill in all the aspects mentioned above.

Event Highlights

The event had various activities with Chef Ranveer Brar, Shwetambari and the audience.

Live cook-off with Chef Ranveer Brar

Chef Ranveer Brar used the Philips Products to prepare some of the wonderful items in front of the live audience.  The best part of this session was that, Chef Ranveer Brar seemed to be at ease using the products.  Every item seem to have been prepared effortlessly.

Some of the items that he prepared including – Fried Idli Chaat, Chettinad Fish Fingers, White Chocolate Brownie and Green Belt (Healthy Juice).  Every item was also plated & presented well making them very desirable.  If I were to pick my top favourite, it would be the Fried Idli Chaat.

Talk by Shwetamvari Shetty

Shwetamvari shared a lot of info about the healthy food options for people, wrong food habits, need for keeping track of calories, identifying the right food to be eaten, keeping track of time of eating food.   Apart from that she also stressed on the need for exercising to stay fit.

Audience Questions

Surprise questions during the cook-off session gave chances for audience to win prizes as Philips product.  Every guest was given a chit with a number and the duplicate was put in a fish bowl.  Randomly one of the chits would be picked and the person holding the same number, would be asked question.  If the person answered correctly, they would get a Philips product (Hand blender) as gift.  Some of the question asked were – Origin of word Mocha, Origin of word Moong, Fruit/Vegetable having anti-inflammatory property, Vegetable inside Guacamole and others.

Prize Distribution

Philips ran a contest few days back to let people come up with Healthy Recipes using the Philips products.  They announced the winner and gave prizes.

Q & A Session

This was an opportunity for audience to ask direct questions to Chef Ranveer Brar and Shwetamvari Shetty.  People asked various questions like – Need for mentioned Calorie & energy content in every dish, Why there is a stress on using Olive Oil compared to Palm or Soya or Sunflower oil,  why is there a need to eat healthy food and many more.  Some of the questions were answered convincingly and some were not.  Hoping to seek answers in person later.

Photo Session & Dinner

Post the Q&A session, both the Chief guests posed for pictures with the audience.  This was then followed by wonderful dinner.

Overall Experience

It was a great opportunity to see the use of Philips products live in action Chef Ranveer Brar for preparing healthy food.  The ease of preparation can inspire anyone to venture into the Kitchen for making the favourite dish.   It also a great opportunity to listen from Shwetamvari regarding health & fitness.

A big thanks to Philips for setting up such a beautiful event.  I am looking forward for many more events by Philips in future.

  1. Wow! I loved to travel though your experience. Apart from a great chef he also seems to be a humble human being. The pics of his dishes are mind blowing.

  5. Fashionablefoodz – India – I love eating, and I will be honest in admitting it..and that’s how it started I guess. Slowly I entered mom’s kitchen and learned silently but quickly. About me, I am a certified Food Nutritionist, a self trained Chef today and I love cooking. Can you get up at 3am in the night and cook if asked to?, I can. My love to experiment with recipes from all over the world has appealed to my readers. When I introduce my little Twist to it to enhance the beauty and richness of the dish and its flavors, home chefs further like it. Cooking is like making love. Do it slowly, do it gently, you tend to enjoy it more. You end up with a happy face and a fine cooked dish. I could travel to the north pole to try something new and innovative to eat. Over a period of time I learned to write about my passion of cooking. I also traveled to various places in order to eat. I guess I am good with words and expressing my thoughts. People started liking it and friends insisted on me starting an independent blog (that’s how the original fashionablefoods.net started and is now popular as UK Fashionablefoodz ). I realized I have a flair for writing when, a few years back, I was actually offered money to write and now I get paid often to write posts and invited to do reviews. I love to try new ideas in the world of Food, Travel, Fashion and Fitness. All go hand in hand and these are the 4 subjects which I love to write about, though I have also written on other subjects too for the past 5 years. I do Content Editing and Proofreading, as they say when I am working. This blog had crossed the 1,00,000 views mark in the first 2 years itself, after which I never maintained a record of people viewing the Blog and the posts. I have my own reader base who love me, my style of writing and keep coming back to my Blog to read more. I am lucky to be in an Era where Celebrity Chefs like Sanjeev Bhai Kapoor (who taught me to cook through his shows), Culinary arts specialists Chef Ranveer Brar, Chef Vicky Ratnani, Chef Ajay Chopra, Chef Varun Inamdar and Chef Saransh Goila along with the Michelin Star chefs Gordon Ramsay and our own Vikas Khanna always inspire me to boldly experiment with ingredients to improvise recipes which sometimes come out good, sometimes don’t. Welcome to my world of eccentric Cooking, mad Traveling, Fitness mania and simple fashion. I hope you like it….call me Uttpal, Uttpal Krushna, Uttpal Krushna Khot or simply UK..
