Sunday has been one of the most popular meals for the week that a lot of people wait for.  It’s a time when most of the people, like to catch up with friends & family, enjoy good food & drink while having a conversation.  We are not aware of the origin of the Sunday Brunch, but every good restaurant does host.  IMG_20200119_135537Hard Rock Cafe also has its own version of Sunday brunch that has an elaborate list of dishes & drink that unlimited.  Add to this there is some great musical performance by the live band and many live counters.

Goa Brewing Co

A relatively new brewery in Bangalore that makes some amazing craft beers.  After its popularity in Goa, they have trying to push the brand to people by doing something different.  They have set up a unique association with HRC for Sunday Brunch.  Anyone taking up Sunday brunch will get to choose from only two beers, one is the ‘Eight Finger Eddie (IPA)’ by GBC.

Apart from this brand, the company has 3 other beer variants.

  • Breakfast Cereal Stout
  • Saint & Sinner
  • Pineapple Saison

Very smart, the brand has introduced the IPA variant of the Brew that has slightly bitter but has a nice fruity after taste.  This drink goes along very well with the amazing food spread at HRC.

Food Options

HRC has always been known for its good food and cocktails.  It’s very easy to pick from the best of the dishes and serve it part of the brunch.

Salads

Haystick, Chopp

Both of the salad had a lot of fresh veggies and dry-fruits in them variation comes in terms of the dressing used.  One has the ‘ranch dressing’ while the other has ‘homemade balsamic vinaigrette & barbecue sauce’.  The salad also comes in Non-Veg variants and individually they either have Fried Chicken or Grilled chicken in them.

Appetizers

Veg – Santa Fe Spring Rolls, Red Hot Chilli Fries, Mac & Cheese Bites

NonVeg – Tupelo Chicken Tenders, Chargrilled Tex-Mex Chicken Skewers, Southern Spiced Chicken Fritters

I enjoyed the Spring roll the most as the spring rolls had a stuffing of Black Beans, Corn, Jalapenos & cheese.  It was served with salad and fresh cream that the dish very tasty.  I also loved the Red Hot Chilli Fries that had an amazing nice combination of cheese sauce, sweet chili drizzle, and tangy salsa added on top of the French fries.

Entrees

Veg – Srilankan Veg Sliders, Southern Spice Curry

NonVeg – Smoked Texas Chicken Sliders, Jamaican Jerk Chicken

I could only taste the Srilanka Veg Slider that had served with cottage cheese patty infused with Srilankan spices.  It surely did not live to the expectation as it lacked moisture.

Live Stations

Eggs as you like it, Gourmet Pasta (V)

I got a Penne Veg pasta with White sauce that sautéed vegetables tossed up along with the pasta.  The taste was pretty good but one can always add a little seasoning to make it tastier.

Desserts

Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae, White Chocolate & Banana Pudding, Sinful Hot Fudge Sundae

I loved the Banana Pudding as it was served with tasty White chocolate.  Even the brownie sundae also not far behind.

Drinks

Cocktails LIT, Hurricane, Purple Haze, Texas Iced Tea, Electric Ice Tea, Love in the Air, Sangria, New York Sour, Mojito, Mimosa, Bahama Mama, Riders of the Storm

Most of the drinks were based on Vodka that goes along with any ingredients that added.  Some of them had rum-infused and few had Whisky in them.

Spirits – Ciroc, Jack Daniels JW Red Label, Tanqueray, Bacardi Carta Blanca, Old Monk

Beers – Eight Finger Eddie (Goa Brewing Co), Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc

I could not try the cocktails but loved the beers.  Kronenbourg is a very light drink that goes along well with spicy food.  Eight Finger Eddie is a perfectly balanced beer that has its own identity and can be enjoyed with food.

Final Thoughts

It’s a great initiative by Goa Brewing Co to tie up with HardRock Café and make themselves available to people.  This for sure will help reach out to more people and spread the word.  The food at HRC is top-notch barring a few that could have better seasoning.  It was good fun listening to some amazing songs while having good food. I will recommend one and all to the Goa Brewing Co beer and Sunday brunch at HRC.
