Twsited Desi – Vegetarian Casual Diner at Indiranagar, Bangalore

Advertisements

Twisted Desi, unique name for a new Casual Dining restaurant at the intersection of CMH Road and 100ft Road in Indiranagar.  Located right next to one of the most popular Microbrewery in town.  The place serves some of the best dishes from Continental, Italian, North Indian, Chinese cuisines.  Started by 2 dynamic brothers – Vikas & Piyush, they serve some of the commonly known dishes with a slight twist. The subtle changes bring a whole new dimension to one’s tongue.  I visited the place there with couple of my friends and tried some of the dishes.IMG_20190208_131135.jpg

Ambiance

  • The setup is small yet very cosy and can accommodate 30-40 guests.
  • The interiors have been decked up very well, with neat looking chairs and long sofas.  Yellow cushion on the chairs and teal color fabric on sofas look very good.
  • Special care has been taken in setting up the interiors of the place and its looks perfect.
  • There is an open-door across the kitchen and dining section to allow guests to see the Chefs in action.
  • Most of the seating is indoor but they are shortly opening up a special section that will be meant for private dining.

Food at Twisted Desi

The restaurant serves food from different cuisines.  Yet, the menu looks pretty compact and not very elaborate.  Let me share my experience on the food.

Soup

Creme Sicilienne – A tasty soup that had mushroom, spring-onions & few veggies served with garlic bread.

Appetizer

Avo California (cold) – An amazing dish that had avocado, green-apple along with Remoulade sauce.

Mushroom Chilli (pan-frying) – Perfectly fried mushroom served with some herbed spices.

Paneer Tikka – This popular Indian starter is favourite for many Vegetarians.  The paneer was soft, but the spice-level could have been a little lesser.  I did share my feedback with the staff, they took the feedback gracefully and told that they will investigate the spice-levels.

Italian & Continental Dishes

Penne Alfredo – Pasta that had Cream Alfredo Sauce, mushroom, broccoli and few more vegetables.

Chaats

Italian Pav Bhai– This Indian snack item has been enhanced further by adding Mushroom and other ingredients making it more Italian.

Desi Dishes

Some of the dishes like Paneer Tikka (starter), Kadai Paneer, Subz Handi, Dal Makhani along with Kabuli Naan & Tandoori Roti.  The taste of every dish was slightly different from the contemporary flavors but it was good.

I did share some feedback on the Dal Makhani regarding the lack of creaminess.  The staff readily accept and told that they would work on it.

Dessert

Twisted Gulab Jamoon & Rasmalai Neptune were tasty and served with a slight twist.  I specially loved the Twisted Gulab Jamoon.

Drinks

They also have Fresh Juices, Hot & Cold Beverages.  I specially tried two of their fresh-juices, Orange Bay View and Hawaiian Treat.  I specially loved the Orange based drink as it was more refreshing on a Friday afternoon.

Overall Experience

I am glad to see a new Vegetarian casual dining restaurant coming up in Indiranagar.  With growing population turning up to become vegetarians, it’s nice to see new outlet like this come up.  The variety of dishes part of the menu is amazing, and I loved most of the dishes that were served.  I am sure that Twisted Desi restaurant will become one of sort after Veg eatery in town.
